A “delegated behind-the-wheel instructor” means a person selected to assist a state-certified instructor in the behind the wheel training of drivers. Selected persons shall be trained by state-certified instructors and approved by the California Department of Education before conducting any behind-the-wheel training. This web page is dedicated in assisting those individuals that are training to become Instructors or Delegated Behind the Wheel Trainers for the State of California.
The below training programs and tests are to supplement the training given to an applicant by a California School Bus Driver Instructor in preparation for certification as a Delegate Behind the Wheel Trainer or for preparation to attend the California Department of Education Instructors Course. Watching these PowerPoint Programs and taking these tests does not guarantee an understanding of the material required to become a Delegate or of passing the certification process.
Assessment Tests
Delegated Behind the Wheel Assessment Test - individuals interested in becoming a delegated or certified instructor should be able to pass this test with at least 90% accuracy.
